Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 21, 2026  ·  Applies to: bnvlbilling.com and the BNVL Billing alerting service

BNVL Billing ("BNVL Billing," "we," "us," or "our") provides an automated monitoring and email-alerting service that notifies subscribed users when their Google Firebase or Google Cloud project approaches or exceeds a configured billing/credit threshold (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have — including the specific handling of any data we access through Google APIs.

By connecting a Google Account to the Service or otherwise using bnvlbilling.com, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information: name, email address, and password or authentication credentials if you create an account directly with us.
  • Alert configuration: the Google Cloud/Firebase project(s) you connect, the billing/credit threshold values you set, and the email address(es) you designate to receive alerts.
  • Support communications: anything you send us when you contact support.

1.2 Information we receive when you sign in with Google

If you choose to authenticate using "Sign in with Google," Google shares certain profile information with us (such as your name, email address, and profile photo) so that we can create and secure your account.

1.3 Information collected automatically

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences.

2. Google User Data & API Scopes

To provide the Service, you authorize BNVL Billing to access certain Google data through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. Depending on how your account is configured, this may include one or more of the following categories of access:

PurposeType of accessWhat we do with itSign-in & identityBasic profile and email address (openid, userinfo.email, userinfo.profile)Used only to create/authenticate your account and identify who an alert belongs to.Billing/credit monitoringRead-only access to Firebase and/or Google Cloud Billing usage and budget data for the project(s) you connect (e.g., Cloud Billing API, Firebase Management API)Used only to check current usage against the threshold you configured and to determine whether an alert should be triggered. We do not modify your billing settings, project configuration, or payment methods.Sending alert emailsWhere you have chosen to send alerts through your own connected Gmail account rather than our default notification sender, a send-only mail scope (e.g., Gmail API gmail.send)Used only to dispatch the specific alert email you configured, on your behalf. We do not read, search, or otherwise access the content of your inbox, and this scope cannot be used to read your existing emails.

We request the minimum scope necessary for each feature, and a feature that requires a given scope is only activated if you explicitly enable it.

3. Google Limited Use Disclosure

BNVL Billing's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In practice, this means:

  • We use Google user data only to provide or improve the specific billing-alert features you have enabled — never for advertising, and never to build user profiles unrelated to the Service.
  • We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless: (a) we have your affirmative, informed consent for a specific purpose; (b) it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating abuse); (c) it is necessary to comply with applicable law; or (d) the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the Service (e.g., our hosting or email-delivery infrastructure, under confidentiality obligations), to comply with the law, as part of a merger or similar transaction with notice to you, or with your explicit consent.

4. How We Use Information

  • To operate the Service, including monitoring connected billing/credit data and generating alert emails.
  • To authenticate you and maintain your account and alert configuration.
  • To communicate with you about the Service, including alerts you have configured, service notices, and responses to support requests.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To maintain, debug, and improve the reliability and performance of the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information or Google user data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: vetted vendors that host our infrastructure or deliver alert emails on our behalf, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and permitted to use the data only to perform services for us.
  • Legal compliance: where required to comply with a valid legal process, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a policy offering comparable protections, and with notice to you.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, with your consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information and alert configuration data for as long as your account remains active. Billing/credit usage snapshots retrieved via Google APIs are retained only as long as necessary to evaluate and log alert triggers, and are automatically purged on a rolling basis thereafter. If you disconnect your Google account or delete your BNVL Billing account, we delete or anonymize the associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption of data in transit, restricted access to production systems, and secure storage of OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices & Rights

  • Revoke access: you may revoke BNVL Billing's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account security settings. Revoking access will disable alert features that depend on that access.
  • Access, correction, deletion: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting us at the email below.
  • Alert preferences: you may edit or delete your configured thresholds and notification recipients at any time within the Service.
  • Do Not Track: our Service does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., the right to know, delete, or opt out of certain processing). We will honor valid requests consistent with applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business and developer use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Data

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to lawfully transfer data across borders.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date and, where appropriate, by additional notice (such as email). Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
